Principal's Corner

Dear Parents,

Our "Huntington 5K for Kids" is just around the corner - November 14.  It's not too late to sign-up to run.  The entrance fee is $20 and we are hoping for a huge turnout.  The first 150 runners get a free "Huntington Place Elementary 5K Run" t-shirt, so sign up early and join our team!  The route for the run is through the Huntington Place neighborhood and has been officially certified.   Our event will be run by The Tuscaloosa Track Club.  Come join us for a "healthy" morning run and help us complete our computer lab!

HPES Student Council is participating in the "Beat Auburn Food Drive".  Send your canned foods and reach out to help others during these difficult economic times.  We are also participating in the "Santa's Elves" toy program.  Dr. Blackburn, school counselor, has sent home this information.  Let's help others have a jolly season!

Please help us keep our grounds clean and safe for the students.  We occasionally find unwanted, discarded materials in our parking lots, on our track, and on the playground.  If you see cars in these areas after dark, especially on weekends, please report this to the Northport Police.  We had vehicles spinning on our soccer field homecoming weekend, creating additional work for our coach to repair.  Help us take care of our community school!

Dates to remember:

•·         Friday, November 6 - School "Holiday Pictures"

•·         Tuesday, November 10 - Chick-Fil-A fundraiser.  Tell them you are from Huntington Place Elementary.

Thank you for supporting your child and the faculty and staff at Huntington Place Elementary.

Sincerely,

Debbie Benson
